Product Details
The Kiwitech Drag Trough is a super tough, portable water trough designed for sheep and cattle. With a 100L capacity, it’s ideal for rotational grazing – simply empty it, then drag or tow it between paddocks.
Built with a unique, cattle-proof float and valve assembly, this trough is designed to stand up to hard use. It includes a high-flow valve (up to 40L/min), float, and 25mm trough fitting as standard.
Watering capacity:
Up to 100 cows or 400 ewes, depending on your water flow rate
As a guide:
10 cows with calves require approx. 2.5L/min
100 ewes with lambs require approx. 2.9L/min

Pipe compatibility:
All fittings are 25mm, suitable for use with quality 25mm LDPE or MDPE pipe. If you’re using a different pipe size, you can source standard adaptors to convert to 25mm.
Recommended operating pressure: 1–5 BAR

Shipping Surcharge Notice
Due to their size, drag troughs incur a courier shipping surcharge of £19.99 per order (not per item). Orders over £1,200 (ex VAT) will not be charged this fee, as they’ll be shipped on a pallet instead.
Important Notes
Mains water use:
Kiwitech troughs cannot be connected directly to a mains water supply, as the submerged inlet poses a potential backflow risk. If connecting to mains, an air gap (e.g. via a ball valve in a header tank) is required. Please consult your local water authority for approved methods.
FETF 2025 Update:
As of 28 May 2025, this product is not eligible under FETF304 (water trough for rotational grazing), as confirmed by the RPA. This is due to the submerged inlet design, which does not meet air gap regulations. If applying for grant funding, please check directly with the RPA before purchasing.
