Why choose the Bale Grazer?
Efficiency: Save time and effort with hassle-free bale handling.

Superior Parts: High quality strong winch, T-Bar Bale Pins and Mallet Holder.
Ease of Use: Simple and user-friendly design for stress-free operation.
Adaptable: Available with pipe winder attachment, fence hopper, mudguards and light kit.

The Bale Grazer (formally Burge Bale Unroller) also offers several soil health benefits that can greatly improve your farming practices.
1. Minimizes soil compaction: By using the Bale Grazer, you can avoid heavy machinery and equipment traveling over fields, reducing soil compaction, preserving the structure and integrity of the soil.
2. Enhances soil fertility: The unroller and water pipe attachment allow you to easily move your cattle every day to a fresh break and distribute bales across your fields. This minimizes trampling of the ground and promotes the distribution of nutrients across the whole area, enhancing soil fertility and promoting grass growth.
3. Reduces diesel usage: With our bale unroller, you have the option to winter your cattle outside. By unrolling bales directly in the field, you eliminate the need for additional machinery and fuel consumption, resulting in a significant reduction in diesel usage.
Streamline your farming operations AND contribute to better soil health and sustainable agricultural practices. It's a win-win situation for both your farm and the environment!

What Farmers Are Saying
"Well designed, very well built – and makes feeding out simple and flexible."
Chris Berry
Devon, UK
Mixed suckler and sheep farm | Light sandy soil
“We’ve been using the Bale Grazer for two years now on our farm in Devon. It’s been especially useful for managing our 60 suckler cows over winter.
The main issue for us was unrolling bales accurately on challenging terrain – and this has solved that completely. The flexibility it offers, specially being able to move and feed out bales without needing a tractor, has been a game changer.
It’s clearly been very well designed and built to last. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a reliable, low-effort way to buffer livestock. We also use the pipe winder attachment, which makes running out and re-rolling water pipe in winter paddocks quick and easy.”

Meet Tom Burge
Tom is the 4th generation farming at Oaremead Farm on Exmoor, with a background in engineering. Farming 1100 ewes and 130hd Angus suckler cows on a pasture based system. He has been bale grazing and out wintering his suckler herd since 2019 which is what led him to design and make the Bale Grazer (formerly Burge Bale Unroller)!
“After bale grazing with silage bales and round feeders for a number of years, then having to reseed the field because there was such a poached area around the feeders. I looked for something different, which led me to build the Bale Grazer and unroll the hay over a large area.” Tom, 2023.
Why we are excited about the Bale Grazer!
It might sound obvious, but we are really passionate about supporting UK farmers, progressive farming systems, practices and equipment! So when Tom, a progressive farmer, invented the Bale Grazer (formerly Burge Bale Unroller), we were of course on board!
A solution to a limitation! We have been asked by customers before if there is a tool that will wind in overland water pipe so they can have the Kiwitech water system on non permanent land, such as arable rotations or winter keep, and now there is!
“Bale unrollers enable cattle and sheep to be fed quickly and easily without damaging the soil. They can be used to buffer feed when pasture supply is low or to provide the full allocation whist avoiding the compaction and competition associated with ring feeders. They are an essential tool for the progressive livestock farmer. “ James Daniel, Founder Precision Grazing, Progressive Farming Company & FW 2022 Livestock Consultant of the Year
